In February of 2019, Paul was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. Within one month of discovering the large mass that is surrounding part of his heart and his entire left lung, he began chemotherapy. We are rooted in the faith that he will be healed and that we are, in fact, Keeping Paul.

Kelsey’s Blog
“Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.” – Brené Brown
Hello, I’m Kelsey. I am Paul’s wife and I have chosen to create this website to keep our loved ones updated on how Paul is doing and also a personal blog for me to connect with you and share what life is like through this diagnosis. When it feels like I want to curl into myself and hide away from truth and connectedness, I know that is a feeling I cannot trust. What I can trust is that strength will come through sharing and connecting honestly, being vulnerable about the pain and hope, and holding up my candle for all to see. On this page, I promise to share with you my story, imperfectly, and with the faith that there is power in words.
Prayers
These are also written in my own words. On this page you are free to comment and share: kind thoughts, uplifting words, personal notes, and your own prayers are all very welcome.
Thank You: To Our Village
Our favorite part of our wedding ceremony was when Paul’s Dad (who married us) had us turn to look out at the people who were there that day. He had us pause…and make eye contact with the people in our lives who showed up for us and who will continue to lift us up. Our Village. And it could not be more true.
THANK YOU to all of you who have called, texted, sent a card, sent a prayer, sent a happy thought, asked an additional person to pray for us or think of us. Thank you for cooking us dinner and bringing us care packages. Thank you for helping us with chores, taking care of Maybe and always being a phone call or text away whenever we need you. Thank you for offering to take Paul to chemo or to come and keep me company at doctor appointments. Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for asking questions-we know that takes being bold and we appreciate your courage in your relationship with us. Thank you for allowing space to hear our hope and to also hear what scares us, what terrifies us. Thank you for promising to celebrate the joy of Paul being healed from this one day soon. Thank you for your faith and light, we will all keep our chin up together.
We will surrender to your kindness. We will surrender over and over again knowing we need this help and support and love right now, thank you for offering it all so generously. We ask and pray that you also will know this generosity and love in your own life.
